PRIVATE HOME LIVE IN FOR PSYCH TECH FOR 17 YEAR OLD LOW FUNCTIONING WITH BEHAVIOR ISSUES

Description

Contract for 18 months with private family for behavioral management and personal care of 17 year old female who is low functioning. In home care, walks and taking her to the park, driving her to school and medical appointments, feed her meals and administer medications. Looking for strong female as personal hygene is involved. Need good driving record and experience with behavior issues who wants to make an impact on a developing teen. A degree is not needed as experience is credited. Child attends special education high school. She is taking some medications but can walk and run and make some choices, Limited language and life skills. We use behavior modification and reward for most of her stress management and some medication. She has agression outbursts that are triggered by known stress factors such as sudden noises. Goal is to lessen reactiveness in triggers and guide her to obtain better impulse control behaviors. She has Down Syndrome, autism and neurological abnormalities.

Family would require a skype interview where you can also view the client. This is a full time 40 hour a week position. Family now lives in Hawaii just off a private beach in Kailua, Oahu. Within 10 months will be moving to the Raleigh, North Carolina area. Family needs someone to contract six months approximately through the move transition with option to renew. Private room and bath provided in both locations. Hours will total 40 per week but can be somewhat flexible outside of child's school hours. In additional to bi-monthly salary a reasonable amount for private medical insurance will be paid. Only those who can contract for 12-18 months and be able to move with the family will be considered.

Chesapeake Gov’t Health Services, a contractor for the Department of Defense, US Navy is seeking a Psychiatric Technician to work at the Naval Branch Health Clinic
(NBHC), Ft. Worth, Texas.

You will provide Psychiatric Technician services for NBHC Ft. Worth between the hours of 0730 to 16:30 Monday through Friday.  The clinic is closed on weekends and the day of observance of Federal Holidays.  Schedules for each 2 week period will be scheduled (1) one month in advance.  In no instance will the Health Care Worker be required to provide services in excess of 80 hours within a 2 week period.

Responsibilities:

  • As a Psychiatric Technician for NBHC Ft. Worth, Texas.
  • You will be responsible for demonstrating sound psychiatric nursing theoretical and practical approaches in providing nursing care. 
  • Monitor, escort, and/or act as a therapeutic participant in patient activities in the outpatient psychiatric clinic and outpatient programs.
  • Provide care for patients utilizing proper control and safety techniques.
  • Utilize therapeutic assessment and interview skills to illicit accurate and concise accounts of the patient's conditions.
  • Utilize sound judgment and crisis intervention skills, including physical restraint, to prevent or reverse situations which may be potentially harmful.
  • Exhibit a basic knowledge of psychotropic medications including actions, side effects, and common dosages.
  • Screen patients to determine presenting problems and priority of appointment.
  • Assist in providing specialized treatment and rehabilitation of mental health.
  • Present or facilitate a variety of health and wellness programs, stress management, suicide intervention, and smoking cessation.
  • Coordinate with other base agencies and Military Treatment Facilities (MTF) regarding specialized care, treatment, and administrative functions.

Requirements:

  • Possess an Associates of Arts in a behavioral science, or a Bachelors degree in Psychology, or a degree in Sociology or a behavioral science related field.
  • Have a minimum of 12 (twelve) months of full time experience within the preceding 24 (twenty four) months as a Psychiatric Technician.
